Builder vs Operator

Four roses and one thorn on the Duchess yesterday.

Our first all women crew, and I was very clearly the fifth wheel, in the best possible way. Accounting, real estate, wealth management, and the office of a CEO, four different worlds, all at the same table.

We spent the afternoon on Builder vs Operator. Where are you building something new right now, and where are you just holding together what already works. Then we pushed further, what does it actually take to double a business versus make it ten times bigger, and would any part of the current version survive that.

The conversation went exactly where the best ones on the Duchess always go, past the questions and into real advice, real relationships, and people who had never met walking off the boat trading cell numbers instead of business cards.

That is the whole reason the Duchess exists. We do not just learn from each other out here. We build something.
